Missouri Revised Statutes § 436.309 - Subcontractor may tender substitute security, when
A subcontractor may give substitute security and ask for release of retainage; the contractor must pass the substitute security to the owner and, if the subcontractor is not in default, pay over related retainage within five working days and avoid withholding retainage to the same extent as the owner.
