§ 55-452. Attempt to commit an offense.
An attempt is an act done with specific intent to commit an offense, beyond mere preparation, even if the offense fails. A person subject to the code who attempts an offense punishable by the code may be punished by court-martial, unless another punishment is specifically prescribed.
