TCA § 55-19-112 — Examinations — Certification that applicant has successfully completed school requirements

All written examinations used by commercial driver training schools shall be numbered and maintained by the driving school. Each driving school shall maintain a list of all written examinations. Written examinations shall be maintained in a manner that ensures the integrity and confidentiality of their contents. The license of a commercial driver training school that fails to maintain a list of driving examinations is subject to suspension or revocation. All electronic examinations used by commercial driving schools shall be maintained in such a manner that ensures the integrity and confidentiality of the examinations. All documents issued by a commercial driver training school shall certify that the applicant has completed successfully the requirements of the school. Each certification shall have a unique identifying number or mark. The commercial driver training school shall transmit to the department of safety, driver license issuance division, a list of all certifications issued and the person to whom the certification was issued. The list of certifications shall include the identifying number or mark on every certification issued. The department of safety shall not issue a driver license, instruction permit or immediate driver license based upon a certificate issued by a commercial driver training school, unless it has a list of certifications from the commercial driver training school and the applicant provides satisfactory proof that the applicant is the person who received the certificate from the commercial driver training school.
