Agriculture Code § 167.051

Sec. 167.051. ANIMALS SUBJECT TO TREATMENT. (a) Animals located in the tick eradication area are subject to treatment if the animals: (1) are infested with ticks; (2) were exposed to ticks within the nine months preceding an order to treat; or (3) are on premises described in an order to treat during the time that the order is in effect and the person to whom the order is issued is the owner, part owner, or caretaker of the animals. (b) Animals located in the free area are subject to treatment if: (1) the animals are infested with ticks; (2) the animals were exposed to ticks within the nine months preceding an order to treat; (3) the animals are on premises described in an order to treat during the time the order is in effect and the person to whom the order is issued is the owner, part owner, or caretaker of the animals; or (4) the commission determines that treatment is necessary to ensure that the animals are entirely free from infestation. (c) The commission may require the treatment of animals that are located in the free area and are tick infested or have been exposed to ticks regardless of whether the animals or the area in which the animals are located is under quarantine.
