Insurance Code § 557.003
A lender must, within 10 days after an insured requests release of insurance proceeds, either release the requested proceeds if the insured has shown compliance with the lender’s Section 557.002 requirements or send the insured a specific written notice explaining the refusal and what the insured must do.
