Education Code § 74.105

Sec. 74.105. LEASE OF LAND FOR HOSPITAL, ETC. (a) The board may lease to nonprofit charitable, scientific, or educational corporations organized under the laws of the State of Texas, or to any governmental agency or agencies, a tract or tracts of land situated in Dallas County out of land previously deeded by Southwestern Medical Foundation to the State of Texas. (b) A lease under this section shall be on the terms, conditions, and provisions and for a period of years determined by the board. No lease shall be for a term of more than 99 years. (c) A lease under this section shall be made only to a nonprofit corporation or governmental agency for the purpose of constructing, maintaining, and operating a hospital, hospitals, or public health centers and services; or for the purpose of constructing, maintaining, and operating dormitories and housing facilities for students attending the medical school or persons employed by and in institutions located on the property. (d) In no event shall the State of Texas or The University of Texas System be liable, directly or indirectly, for any expense or cost in connection with the construction, operation, and maintenance of any building or other improvement placed on the leased premises by any lessee.
