Insurance Code § 751.002

Sec. 751.002. PURPOSE AND SCOPE. (a) The purpose of this chapter is to establish a framework for department market conduct actions, including: (1) processes and systems for identifying, assessing, and prioritizing market conduct problems that have a substantial adverse impact on consumers, policyholders, and claimants; (2) development of appropriate market conduct actions by the commissioner as required to: (A) substantiate market conduct problems; and (B) remedy significant market conduct problems; and (3) procedures to communicate and coordinate market conduct actions with other states to foster the most efficient and effective use of resources. (b) Notwithstanding any other law of this state, the department or commissioner, as applicable, may undertake market analysis or market conduct action only as provided by this chapter.
