Government Code § 501.148

Sec. 501.148. GENERAL POWERS AND DUTIES OF COMMITTEE. (a) The committee may: (1) develop statewide policies for the delivery of correctional health care; (2) serve as a dispute resolution forum in the event of a disagreement relating to inmate health care services between: (A) the department and the health care providers; or (B) contracting entities; and (3) report to the board at the board's regularly scheduled meeting each quarter on the committee's policy recommendations. (b) The committee shall advise the department and the board as necessary, including providing medical expertise and assisting the department and the board in identifying system needs and resolving contract disputes.
