About this statute

A toll project entity generally may not send payment-demand notices before checking for an active customer account tied to the transponder. If certain conditions are met, it must pay the toll from that account without administrative or late fees, but it may still bill the customer if the account is underfunded or the customer failed to comply with Section 372.054. If a transponder fails more than 10 times in 30 days and must be replaced, the entity must notify the customer.
