An authority may hire fare enforcement officers. Before starting work, they must complete at least 8 hours of authority-approved training, and while on duty they must wear identifying uniform/badge/insignia and follow the authority's chief administrative officer. About this statute
An authority may hire fare enforcement officers. Before starting work, they must complete at least 8 hours of authority-approved training, and while on duty they must wear identifying uniform/badge/insignia and follow the authority's chief administrative officer. They may request fare evidence, certain ID or documents, direct a passenger to leave if fare proof is missing, and file complaints in court. They may not carry a weapon while on duty unless they are certified peace officers.
