The board may approve an application for a water supply project if it finds the public interest requires state assistance and the pledged revenue or taxes will be enough to cover the political subdivision’s obligations for up to 50 years.
Sec. 17.125. APPROVAL OF APPLICATION. (a) The board by resolution may approve an application if, after considering the factors listed in Section 17.124 of this code and any other relevant factors, the board finds: (1) that the public interest requires state assistance in the water supply project; (2) and that in its opinion the revenue or taxes pledged by the political subdivision will be sufficient to meet all the obligations assumed by the political subdivision during the succeeding period of not more than 50 years.
