Transportation Code § 552.006
Pedestrians generally may not walk on a roadway when an accessible sidewalk is available, must use the left side or shoulder facing traffic when no sidewalk exists, and drivers leaving or entering certain places must stop and yield to pedestrians on the crossing sidewalk.
