Transportation Code § 51.007

Sec. 51.007. EVALUATION AND REPORT. (a) In cooperation with appropriate persons, the commission shall continually evaluate the impact of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway on the state. The evaluation shall include: (1) an assessment of the importance of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway that includes identification of its direct and indirect beneficiaries; (2) identification of principal problems and possible solutions to those problems that includes estimated costs, economic benefits, and environmental effects; (3) an evaluation of the need for significant modifications to the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway; and (4) specific recommendations for legislative action that the commission believes are in the best interest of the state in carrying out the state's duties under this chapter. (b) The commission shall publish a report of its evaluation and present the report to each regular session of the legislature. Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1995.
