Occupations Code § 256.002

Sec. 256.002. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF DENTAL APPLICANT. (a) An applicant for a license to practice dentistry must: (1) be at least 21 years of age; and (2) present proof of: (A) graduation from a dental school accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association; or (B) graduation from a dental school that is not accredited by the commission and successful completion of training in an American Dental Association approved specialty in an education program accredited by the commission that consists of at least two years of training as specified by the Council on Dental Education. (b) The board shall grant a dental license to an applicant who: (1) meets the qualifications of this section; (2) pays an application fee set by the board; and (3) satisfactorily passes the examination required by the board.
