Transportation Code § 502.411

Sec. 502.411. BRIBERY OF COUNTY OFFICER OR AGENT. (a) A person commits an offense if the person directly or indirectly agrees with the commissioners court of a county or an officer or agent of the commissioners court or county that the person will register or cause to be registered a motor vehicle, trailer, or semitrailer in that county in consideration of: (1) the use by the county of the funds derived from the registration in the purchase of property; or (2) an act to be performed by the commissioners court or an agent or officer of the commissioners court or the county. (b) The registration of each separate vehicle in violation of Subsection (a) is a separate offense. The agreement or conspiracy to register is a separate offense. (c) A person who makes or seeks to make an agreement prohibited by Subsection (a) shall be restrained by injunction on application by the district or county attorney of the county in which the vehicle is registered or the attorney general. (d) An offense under this section is punishable in the same manner as an offense under Section 36.02, Penal Code. Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1995.
