Local Government Code § 351.184

Sec. 351.184. CERTIFICATION. (a) To certify county correctional centers as eligible for state funding under Section 509.011(b)(6), Government Code, the community justice assistance division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, with the assistance of the Commission on Jail Standards, shall develop standards for the physical plant and operations of county correctional centers. (b) The Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the Commission on Jail Standards shall adopt a memorandum of understanding that establishes their respective responsibilities in certifying county correctional centers. The community justice assistance division shall coordinate the development of the memorandum of understanding. The commission and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice by rule shall adopt the memorandum of understanding. Added by Acts 1989, 71st Leg., ch. 785, Sec. 3.03, eff. Sept. 1, 1989.
