Government Code § 442.014

Sec. 442.014. MAIN STREET PROGRAM. (a) The commission shall administer a main street program to assist communities with the development, restoration, and preservation of their historic neighborhood commercial districts and central business districts. (b) The commission shall designate certain communities to participate in the program as official main street cities. (c) The commission by rule shall prescribe the frequency of community designations and qualification standards for participation in the program. (d) The commission by rule shall prescribe a fee schedule for participation in the program under Subsection (c). The commission shall collect fees from the participating communities to offset costs of participation in the program. Added by Acts 1989, 71st Leg., ch. 23, Sec. 1, eff. April 19, 1989.
