About this statute
The county clerk must count the returned ballots and report the results to the commissioners court within 30 days after the public hearing. If a majority supports the improvement and assessment, the commissioners court must order the improvements and assess the costs against the subdivision’s real property owners. If the proposition fails, the commissioners court may not order it or re-propose it for 4 years.
