Eligible employees of certain Texas Tech University System institutions may participate in the state employees’ workers’ compensation program.
Sec. 501.022. EMPLOYEES OF COMPONENT INSTITUTIONS OR SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION OF TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY SYSTEM. (a) An eligible employee of Texas Tech University, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Angelo State University, Texas Tech University System Administration, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso, Midwestern State University, or another agency under the direction and control of the board of regents of the Texas Tech University System is entitled to participate in the workers' compensation program for state employees provided under this chapter. (b) For purposes of this chapter, Texas Tech University is a state agency and shall act in the capacity of employer. (c) For purposes of this chapter, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is a state agency and shall act in the capacity of employer. (d) For purposes of this chapter, Angelo State University is a state agency and shall act in the capacity of employer. (e) For purposes of this chapter, Texas Tech University System Administration is a state agency and shall act in the capacity of employer. (f) For purposes of this chapter, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso is a state agency and shall act in the capacity of employer.
