About this statute

Installers must give manufactured home owners a written installation warranty, and the warranty must clearly require written notice of claims. For new HUD-code manufactured homes, the retailer gives the warranty; if the retailer uses a licensed installer, both are responsible. The installer or retailer generally has no warranty liability for defects reported more than two years after purchase or installation, unless the warranty gives a longer period.
