Agriculture Code § 167.002

Sec. 167.002. CARETAKER OF ANIMAL. A person is subject to this chapter as the caretaker of an animal if the person: (1) is the owner, part owner, lessee, occupant, or caretaker of land or premises, and controls that land or those premises, on which the animal is located; (2) is the parent of a minor child who owns an interest in the animal, unless a person other than the parent is the legal guardian of the minor child's estate; or (3) is the administrator, executor, or guardian of an estate that owns the animal, or owns land on which the animal is located, and controls the estate by reason of the administration or guardianship.
