Insurance Code § 981.074
A domestic surplus lines insurer may insure risks in this state only if the insurance is eligible surplus lines insurance and the insurer is authorized to write that kind of insurance; it may not issue admitted-market policies or policies to satisfy certain Texas insurance requirements.
