Insurance Code § 1467.052
A person must complete 40 classroom hours of dispute-resolution training to qualify as a mediator, unless Subsection (b) applies. A person who is not qualified may still be appointed if the parties agree, but a person with certain recent business relationships may not act as mediator in a claim settlement dispute. The

About this statute
A person must complete 40 classroom hours of dispute-resolution training to qualify as a mediator, unless Subsection (b) applies. A person who is not qualified may still be appointed if the parties agree, but a person with certain recent business relationships may not act as mediator in a claim settlement dispute. The commissioner must immediately end a mediator’s approval if the mediator no longer meets the subchapter’s requirements.
