Sec. 148.003. SLAUGHTER OF UNBRANDED OR UNMARKED LIVESTOCK; SLAUGHTER WITHOUT BILL OF SALE. (a) A slaughterer may not purchase or slaughter for market livestock that is unmarked or unbranded. (b) A slaughterer may not purchase and slaughter any animal without receiving a bill of sale or written transfer from the person selling the livestock.
