Transportation Code § 623.074

Sec. 623.074. APPLICATION. (a) The department may issue a permit under this subchapter on the receipt of an application for the permit. (b) The application must: (1) be in writing; (2) state the kind of equipment to be operated; (3) describe the equipment; (4) give the weight and dimensions of the equipment; (5) give the width, height, and length of the equipment; (6) state the kind of commodity to be transported and the weight of the total load; and (7) be dated and signed by the applicant. (c) An application for a permit under Section 623.071(a) or (b) must also also state: (1) each highway over which the equipment is to be operated, if the permit is for a single trip; or (2) the region or area, as required by rule, over which the equipment is to be operated, if the permit is for other than a single trip. (d) The department may by rule authorize an applicant to submit an application electronically. An electronically submitted application shall be considered signed if a digital signature is transmitted with the application and intended by the applicant to authenticate the application. For purposes of this subsection, "digital signature" means an electronic identifier intended by the person using it to have the same force and effect as the use of a manual signature.
