Election Code § 61.005
A presiding judge must protect ballots, ballot boxes, and provisional-ballot envelopes from unauthorized access, and they must be kept in view at a polling place; a presiding election judge who fails to stop unauthorized handling or entry commits a Class A misdemeanor.
