Occupations Code § 201.311

Sec. 201.311. INACTIVE STATUS. (a) The board by rule shall adopt a system by which a license holder may place the license on inactive status. A license holder must apply for inactive status, on a form prescribed by the board, before the expiration date of the license. (b) A license holder whose license is on inactive status: (1) is not required to pay license renewal fees; and (2) may not perform an activity regulated under this chapter. (c) A license holder whose license is on inactive status may return to active practice by notifying the board in writing. The board shall remove the license holder's license from inactive status after the holder pays an administrative fee and complies with any educational or other requirements established by board rules. (d) The board by rule shall establish a rule setting a limit on the time a license holder's license may remain on inactive status. Acts 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 388, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1999.
