Water Code § 61.034

Sec. 61.034. ELECTIONS. (a) When an election is held under this chapter, notice shall be posted for 30 days before the election in the manner provided for posting notice. The notice shall include: (1) the time and place of the election; (2) the proposition; (3) the purpose of the election; and (4) a copy of the election order. (b) Unless otherwise provided, a two-thirds vote is necessary to carry a proposition submitted at an election. (c) The commissioners court shall create and define, by order, the voting precincts in the district and shall name convenient polling places in the precincts. It shall appoint necessary election officials and shall hold elections at the earliest legal time. (d) After canvassing the returns of an election, if the commissioners court finds that the proposition has carried, it shall declare the result and enter it in the minutes as provided in this chapter.
