Government Code § 614.063

A peace officer cannot be punished for refusing a polygraph in an internal investigation, unless the stated exceptions apply. The law enforcement head may order a polygraph in certain internal or extraordinary situations and must give a written explanation in the extraordinary-circumstances case.
