Property Code § 74.708
A holder of presumed-abandoned property on March 1 must hold it in trust for the state and may owe the property’s full value, plus interest and penalty. If the property is timely delivered to the comptroller under Section 74.301, the holder does not have to segregate or create trust accounts.
