Property Code § 76.602
The treasurer of the holder must use the unclaimed money fund to pay valid ownership claims, and must transfer the remaining balance to the holder’s general fund each fiscal year. The treasurer and the holder’s attorney may also use the fund for enforcement and administration costs.
