Health and Safety Code § 754.0112

Sec. 754.0112. INSTITUTION OF HIGHER EDUCATION: EMPLOYEE DUTIES AND INSURANCE REQUIREMENT. (a) In this section, "institution of higher education" has the meaning assigned by Section 61.003, Education Code. (b) Notwithstanding any contrary provision of this chapter, this chapter does not prohibit a registered elevator inspector or registered contractor from performing an activity regulated by this chapter or the rules adopted under this chapter if the inspector or contractor is performing the activity as an employee of an institution of higher education. (c) Notwithstanding any contrary provision of this chapter, this chapter does not prohibit a registered elevator inspector or registered contractor performing an activity described by Subsection (b) as an employee of an institution of higher education from providing written evidence of self-insurance coverage to satisfy an insurance requirement under this chapter or rules adopted under this chapter.
