Finance Code § 347.504
A creditor is generally not liable for an oral statement of an amount owed or an unsolicited written statement of an amount owed on a credit transaction, unless the statement demands payment above the amount authorized by the subtitle or is part of a solicitation to renew or refinance existing debt.
