Transportation Code § 545.054
An operator may not pass on the left side of the roadway unless the subtitle allows it and the left side is clearly visible and clear of traffic; when passing, the operator must return to the proper lane before 200 feet of an approaching vehicle, or as soon as practicable otherwise.
