III) que asimismo, se destaca la trascendencia en la historia nacional de Pedro Campbell, quien defendiera los ideales republicanos de nuestro prócer General José Gervasio Artigas. IV) que las citadas embarcaciones serán utilizadas por la Armada Nacional para el cumplimiento de su misión. V) la importancia de asignar a las embarcaciones de referencia una denominación oficial, en virtud de su naturaleza de buques de guerra y el reconocimiento internacional. ATENTO: a lo precedentemente expuesto, a lo informado por el Comando General de la Armada y a lo dictaminado por la Asesoría Letrada del Ministerio de Defensa Nacional. EL PRESIDENTE DE LA REPUBLICA DECRETA: FIRMANTES: TABARE VAZQUEZ - JORGE MENENDEZ Artículo 1 Desígnanse con el nombre ROU 01 "URUGUAY" y ROU 02 "COMANDANTE PEDRO CAMPBELL" a las fragatas recibidas de la República Portuguesa, denominadas "Joao Belo" y "Comandante Sacadura Cabral" respectivamente. Artículo 2 Comuníquese, publíquese y pase al Comando General de la Armada a sus efectos. Cumplido, archívese.
