VISTOS: VISTO: la gestión realizada por la Comisión Asesora de Inmunizaciones; RESULTANDO: que por la misma se propone mantener la primera dosis al año de vida e incorporar una segunda dosis de vacuna contra la varicela de forma obligatoria, a niños y niñas que cumplan 5 años de edad a partir del 1ero de enero 2014; CONSIDERANDO: I) que las vacunas de carácter obligatorio, suministradas gratuitamente por el Ministerio de Salud Pública, deben estar incorporadas en el Programa Ampliado de Inmunizaciones (PAI), figurando en el Carné de Vacunas exigido en todo el País; II) que a efectos de continuar disminuyendo la carga de esta enfermedad de riesgos en niñas, niños y jóvenes, embarazadas e inmunodeprimidos, se hace necesario incorporar la vacunación para reforzar la inmunidad para la prevención de la Varicela; III) que la Comisión Asesora de Inmunizaciones del Ministerio de Salud Pública estableció un nuevo calendario que incorpora una segunda dosis para el caso de la Varicela a los 5 años de edad; ATENTO: a lo precedentemente expuesto, lo establecido en el Artículo 2° de la Ley N° 9.202 - Orgánica de Salud Pública- de 12 de enero de 1934 y demás disposiciones concordantes; EL PRESIDENTE DE LA REPÚBLICA DECRETA: FIRMANTES: JOSÉ MUJICA - SUSANA MUÑIZ Artículo 1 Incorpórase al Programa Ampliado de Inmunizaciones (PAI), la segunda dosis de la vacuna contra la Varicela a niñas y niños que cumplan 5 años de edad a partir del 1ero. de enero de 2014, modificando en ese sentido el Certificado Esquema de Vacunación vigente, de acuerdo al Anexo (*) que se adjunta y que forma parte integral del presente Decreto. [Nota: Ver: Texto/imagen. Ver en esta norma, artículo: 2.] Artículo 2 Apruébase el Calendario de Vacunaciones elaborado por la Comisión Asesora de Inmunizaciones, dependiente de la Dirección General de la Salud del Ministerio de Salud Pública, contenido en el Anexo mencionado en el Artículo anterior. Artículo 3 Comuníquese, publíquese.
