Statute overview

About this statute

This section states the Act’s short title. This section defines key terms used in the Act and gives the President the final decision in disputes about whether someone is a European officer. The President may make, change, and revoke pension regulations by statutory instrument. Pensions, gratuities, and other allowances granted under this Act are to be charged on and paid from the general revenues of the Republic. The President may reduce or withhold a European officer’s pension, gratuity, or other allowance if misconduct is established and the appropriate Commission agrees.
