About this statute

This section gives the Act’s short title. This section defines key terms used in the Act. A Registering Officer must exist for this Act, be a public officer, and handle administration of the Act. The Registering Officer may delegate powers or functions to a public service officer, but only under the Minister’s general or special directions. The Registering Officer must keep a register of plant. To register plant, the applicant must apply to the Registering Officer in the prescribed form and pay the prescribed fee; the officer must then register or refuse the application, may attach conditions, and a breach of a condition is an offence.
