Statute overview

About this statute

Any person may get an office copy or extract of a deed registered under this Act if they pay the required rate. Fees may be prescribed for deed registrations, copies, extracts, and official searches, and the registrar is not required to act on any fee-based matter unless the fee is paid. The Attorney-General may make rules by statutory instrument to carry out this Act, and may later alter, amend, or revoke those rules. An affidavit required by or for this Act may be sworn before any person allowed to take that affidavit under other law. The older Deeds of Arrangement Act, 1914 stops applying in Zambia, but pending proceedings and existing rules continue under transitional savings rules.
