About this statute

This section says the Act may be cited as the Betting Control (Amendment) Act, 1984, is to be read together with the Betting Control Act, and is deemed to have come into operation on 28 January 1984. Section 14 of the principal Act is repealed and replaced with a new section. Licensed bookmakers must pay a fee when their licence is issued: 1,000 kwacha for a first issue and 500 kwacha for each renewal.
