This section says the Act may be cited as the Betting Control (Amendment) Act, 1984, is to be read together with the Betting Control Act, and is deemed to have come into operation on 28 January 1984.

1. (1) This Act may be cited e.a the Betting Control (Amend ment) Act, 1984, and shall be read as one with the Betting Control Act, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act. (2) This Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 28th January, 1984.

Licensed bookmakers must pay a fee when their licence is issued: 1,000 kwacha for a first issue and 500 kwacha for each renewal.

Every bookmaker licensed under this Act shall Licence reea be required to pay at tho time of the issue of his licence a fee of one thousand kwacha. in the case of a first issue of a licence and five hundred kwacha in the case of each renewal thereof.
