Statute overview

About this statute

This Act may be cited as the Export Development Act, 1985, and starts on a date the Minister appoints by statutory instrument. This section defines several terms used in the Act, unless the context requires otherwise. This section establishes the Export Council of Zambia and lists its members. The Council must supervise the Act, set and approve national policies to promote exports from Zambia, and handle appeals or complaints under the Act. It may also direct the Board, and the Board must follow those directions. The Council may regulate its own procedure and must follow rules on meetings, quorum, voting, minutes, and who may preside or call meetings.
