About this statute
People holding offices listed in the First Schedule must be paid a prescribed salary and special allowance. Office holders listed in the First Schedule are to be paid an electricity allowance and a water allowance. Some office holders are entitled to a housing allowance at the annual rate set in the Second Schedule, unless they are occupiers of Government-provided housing. The holder of an office listed in the First Schedule may receive allowances not mentioned in this Act if eligible to receive them otherwise than under this Act.
