2. The holder of an office specified in tho first column of tho First Scheclule sh.all be paid- So.lo.ries o.nd special allowancos (a) a salary at the annual rate prt'scribed for that office in the second column of the First Schedule; and (11) a special allowance at the annual rate prescribed for that office 1n the third column of the First Schedule: Provided that the person who held the office of Auditor-General immediately before the commence­ ment of this Act shall, while he continues to hold that office, be paid the special allowance ttt the annual rate of K3,000 instead of Kl,800 as shown in tho First Schedule. 3. The holder of an office specified in the first column of the First Schedule shall be pa.id- (a) an electricity allowance at the annual rate of K720; ..,_., and (b) a water allowance at the annual rate of �O. ---:

(1) The holder of an office specified in th'e fi.rst column of the Fi.rat Schedule shall be paid a housing allowance, if applicable, at the appropriate annual rate prescribed in the second column of the Second Schedule. (2) No housing allowance shall be payab1e under subsection ( 1) to the occupier of housing pro,rided by Government.

5. othing in this Act contained shall preclude the payment to the bolder of an offico specified in the First Schedule of any allowance not mentioned in this Act which he is eHgible to receive otherwise tha.n by virtue of the provisions of this Act.
