Defence (Amendment) Act, 1987

1. This Act may be cited as the Defonce (Amendment) Act, 1987, and shall be read as one with the Defence Act, in this Act referred to a!'! the principal Act.

2. The principal Act is amended by the insertion immediately after Part ID of the following new Part: Enactm61lt. Title Cap. 131 Ineertlon of now Part lllA PART UJA RoNORABY ComnssroNs

12A. (1) The President may grant to dPserving citizens Grant of of Zambia honorary commissions and may suspend, honorary revoke or withdraw the commissions. oommlaalolll' (2) The President may delegate to any person any of hifi powers under subsection (1). (3) The grunting, suspension, revocation or withdrawal of an honorary commission shall be notified in the Oaz�le.

12B. (1) Subject to this Act, the President may, by R�otlon statutory instrument, make regulations for the better P�r thia carrying out of the provisions of this Pa.rt. Pl"iu 20n. 190 No. 24 of 1987] Defence (Amendment) (b) the qualifications for eligibility for the honorary commissions and the criteria or conditions for the conferring of those commissions; (c) the rights, privileges, benefits, duties and obliga­ tions to be attached to the honorary commissions; (d) any uniforms or insignia to be worn or used in connection with the honorary commissions; (e) the circumstances for the suspension, revocation or withdrawal of the honorary commissions; and (f) any other matter that appears to the President to be expedient to be provided for in relation to the honorary commissions.
