This section says the Act may be cited as the Defonce (Amendment) Act, 1987, and is to be read together with the Defence Act. This provision amends the principal Act by inserting a new Part immediately after Part ID. The President may grant honorary commissions to serving citizens of Zambia, and may later suspend, revoke, or withdraw them. The President may also delegate these powers to another person. The President may make regulations by statutory instrument for carrying out this Part, subject to this Act.

Pl"iu 20n. 190 No. 24 of 1987] Defence (Amendment) (b) the qualifications for eligibility for the honorary commissions and the criteria or conditions for the conferring of those commissions; (c) the rights, privileges, benefits, duties and obliga tions to be attached to the honorary commissions; (d) any uniforms or insignia to be worn or used in connection with the honorary commissions; (e) the circumstances for the suspension, revocation or withdrawal of the honorary commissions; and (f) any other matter that appears to the President to be expedient to be provided for in relation to the honorary commissions.
