This section gives the Act its short title, says it is read together with the principal Betting Control Act, and states that it starts on 1 January 1990.

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Betting Control (Amend ment) Act, 1989, and shall be read as one with the Betting Control Act in this Act referred to as the principal Act. (2) This Act shall come into operation on 1st January, 1990.
