This amendment changes how the National Road Fund is funded and lets the Minister set, by statutory instrument, certain percentages related to weigh bridge charges; it also caps some Road Fund spending for agency operations at 10%.
National Road Fund (Amendment) [No. 5 of2006 19 GOVERNMENT OF ZAMBIA ACT No. 5 of 2006 Date of Assent: lstApril, 2006 An Act to amend the National Road Fnnd Act I 1st April, 2006 ENACTED by the Parliament of Zambia. 1. (1) This Act may be cited as the N ational Road Fund (Amendment) Act, 2006, and shall be read as one with the National Road Fund Act, 2002, in this Act referred to as the principal Act. ( 2) This Act shall come into operation on 1st April, 2006._ 2. Section sixteen of the principal Act is amended in subsection (2)- Enactment Short title and connnencement Act No. 13 of2002 Amendment of section 16 (a) by the insertion in paragraph (c) of the words" by statutory instrument"" before the word " determine " (b) by the insertion after paragraph (c) of the following new paragraphs: ( d) such percentage of the weigh bridge charges payable to the Road Development Agency under the Public Roads Act, 2002, as the Minister may, by statutory instrument, determine; (e) all moneys paid as fmes for vehicle overloading offences under the Public Roads Act, 2002;and (c) by the re-numbering of paragraphs (d) and (e) as paragraphs (j) and (g) respectively. 3. Section seventeen of the principal Act is amended- (a) in paragraph (a) by the deletion of the word "and" after the semicolon; (b) in paragraph (b) by the deletion of the full stop and the substitution therefor of a semicolon and the word "and"; Act No. 12 of2002 ActNo. 12of 2002 Amendment of section 17 Single Copies of this Act can be obtained from the Government Printer, P.O.
