Penal Code (Amendment) [No. 1 of 2012 1 GOVERNMENT OF ZAMBIA ACT No. 1 of 2012 Date of Assent:12th April, 2012 An Act to amend the Penal Code. ENACTED by the Parliament of Zambia. [ 16th April, 2012 1. This Act may be cited as the Penal Code (Amendment) Act, 2012, and shall be read as one with the Penal Code Act, in this Act referred to as the principal Act. 2. The principal Act is amended by the repeal of section ninety- nine and the substitution therefor of the following: 99. A prosecution for an offence under sections ninety- seven or ninety-eight shall not be instituted except by, or with, the sanction of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
