§ 1(I) This Act may_ be cited as the Weights and MeasuresShort title

This section gives the Act’s short title, says it is to be read with the principal Act, and states that it comes into operation on 1 January 2014.

1. (I) This Act may_ be cited as the Weights and Measures (Amendment) Act, 2013, and shall be read as one with the Weights and Measures Act, in this Act referred to as the principal Act. (2) This Act shall come into operation on I st January, 2014.

2. The Thirteenth Schedule to the principal Act is amended in paragraph 9 by the-- (a) deletion in clause (b) of subparagraph (1) of the words "fees, levy"; and (b) insertion in sub-paragraph (2), immediately after clause (b), of the following new clause: (c) any fees, fines and penalties charged and collected under this Act shall form part of the general revenues of the Republic.
