Statute overview

About this statute

Section 3 amends section 2 by deleting the definition of “Committee” and adding new definitions for “associate”, “Board”, “Executive Director”, and “relative”. This section amends the principal Act by repealing Parts III, IV and V and replacing them with a new Part III titled the Business Regulatory Review Agency. The Business Regulatory Review Agency is established as a body corporate and has the power, subject to the Act, to do the things a body corporate may lawfully do. The Agency’s seal may be chosen by the Agency, must be kept by the Secretary, and its use must be authenticated by specified officers or authorised persons. The Agency must run and support an efficient, cost-effective, accessible business licensing system and carry out the listed regulatory functions.
