The Health Professions (Amendment) [No. 21 of 2021 209 GOVERNMENT OF ZAMBIA ACT No. 21 of 2021 Date of Assent: 23rd March, 2021 An Act to amend the Health Professions Act. ENACTED by the Parliament of Zambia. [24th March, 2021 1. The Act may be cited as the Health Professions (Amendment) Act, 2021, and shall be read as one with the Health Professions Act, 2009, in this Act referred to as the principal Act. 2. Section 4 of the principal Act is amended by the insertion of the following new subsections immediately after subsection 2: (3) The Minister may give the Council general or specific directions relating to the performance of its functions and the Council shall give effect to these directions to the extent that the directions are not inconsistent with this Act. (4) The Minister may enter into performance contracts with the Council for a specified period which shall be consistent with the provisions of this Act. Enactment Short title Act No. 24 of 2009 Amendment of section 4 3. Paragraph 1 of the First Schedule is amended by the deletion of subparagraph (b) and the substitution therefor of the following: a representative of the ministry responsible for health;.
