About this statute
The Commission must not register a person as a voter if the person is not a citizen, does not have a national registration card, or is legally disqualified. This provision says the principal Act is amended by adding new sections after section 24. If the Commission sets up a polling station at a prison or correctional centre, it may decide who uses it, and a correctional officer may help move an inmate to that polling station where practicable. The officer-in-charge of a prison or correctional centre must grant access for specified election-related purposes. This provision amends section 29 of the principal Act by changing specified words in subsections (1) and (2), and it repeals section 47.
